Heritage Conservation Collective
Offering preservation and conservation services throughout the UK
Single items to complete collections.
Three permanant team members form the core of the Heritage Conservation Collective, each with their own specialisms and experience. Our primary focus is the preservation and conservation of book, archive, library and paper based material, however, the 'Collective' is a body of professional conservators and restorers in a diverse range of specialisms, from clocks to ceramics.
Since graduating from Camberwell College of Arts and West Dean College Lara has been working as a freelance conservator for over 20 years. Lara has worked at West Sussex Record Office, The University of York and The Leather Conservation Centre as a Book & Archive Conservator. She currently teaches on the Graduate and MA Book & Library Conservation courses at West Dean College.

Conservation Work Going On This Week
We've been super busy this week.
Lara and Hollie don full mould-busting garb to spend three days in the archive of the Forest Research Agency in the beautiful @aliceholtforest.
The team were tackling a mould outbreak caused by a leak over lockdown, a not uncommon problem encountered by library and archive collections throughout the pandemic. By checking, cleaning and reshelving nearly 1600 books, all visible inactive mould will be removed from the collection.
A hugely satisfying project with fabulous results after cleaning and some lovely fluffy mould before-and-afters to boot!! Thank you for having us @forestryengland ðŸ¤— we look forward to visiting you again soon.
